A Jaunt East

I hugged route 417 for some semblance of direction, though a thoroughfare in summer only intensifies the heat- who walks this far in the midday sun? Ignoring the plume of black smoke over Al-Aqsa, I sought refuge in the Educational Bookshop for some moments; a chance for my shirt to dry. I’d summited many mountains before- Wyoming, Montana and California…but this one was drastically different; atop thousands of graves and a view towards magnetic golden domes.
